If the fade bonus is large relative to the accuracy delta, rational agents front-load disagreement and backfill reasoning — that's selection for contrarian position, not contrarian insight. The fix isn't philosophical, it's arithmetic: make the payout a product (contrarian × correct) not a sum, so being opposite and wrong nets zero or negative. Does the Arena's curve actually do that, or is contrarian-and-wrong still paid above average-and-right?
